What is a shopfront and shutter package?
A shopfront and shutter package is a new shop frontage and a matching electric roller shutter designed, priced and fitted together as one job.
Most shops buy these two things from two companies. The frontage gets fitted, then a shutter firm turns up and finds no room for the box, so it ends up bolted on the outside in a colour that nearly matches. Planning the two together avoids that. The shutter box can go behind the fascia, the guide channels line up with the frame, and both are powder coated to the same RAL reference.
You deal with one surveyor, one drawing and one written quotation. One fitting team fits both parts in one sequence, so you close once rather than twice. If your council needs a planning application for the shutter, the drawing we prepare for the quotation is a good starting point for it.
What are the options?
| Security package | Steel frontage with a solid electric shutter |
| Display package | Aluminium frontage with a perforated electric shutter, so the window still works after closing |
| Essential package | Aluminium frontage with a solid electric shutter |
How much do shopfront and shutter packages cost?
| Package | Up to 3 m wide | 5 to 6 m wide |
|---|---|---|
| Security package | £5,095 to £7,995 | £10,095 to £15,995 |
| Display package | £4,195 to £6,295 | £7,995 to £12,295 |
| Essential package | £3,895 to £5,995 | £7,695 to £11,995 |
Guide prices, not offers. Your written quotation sets the final figure.
What can it include?
| Frontage | Aluminium, steel, frameless glass, timber or bi-fold |
|---|---|
| Shutter | Solid, perforated, vision or insulated, or an open grille |
| Colour | One colour on frame and shutter from standard shades. A special RAL adds £95 to £295 |
| Box | A surface box, or built in behind the fascia where the opening allows, which adds £295 to £695 |
| Control | Key switch and remote, with manual override |
Do you need planning permission?
An external shutter or a changed frontage usually needs planning permission from your council. Like-for-like replacement often does not. Listed buildings need listed building consent, and rules differ across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. We tell you what applies at survey.

What do people ask about shopfront and shutter packages?
How much does a shopfront and shutter package cost?
Guide prices start from £3,895 plus VAT, for an aluminium frontage with a solid electric shutter on a unit up to 3 m wide. The final price comes from a free site survey.
Is it cheaper to buy the shopfront and shutter together?
We price each part honestly and do not promise a discount. What you avoid is a second survey, a second visit, a second closure and a shutter box added after the event.
Can the shutter box be hidden?
Usually, yes. When the frontage is new we can build the box in behind the fascia and leave an access panel for servicing. Head height above the door decides how much room there is.
Do I need planning permission for a package?
Often, yes. A changed frontage or an external shutter usually needs consent from your council. We can advise what to check at survey.
How long will my shop be closed?
That depends on the job, and your quotation sets out the fitting days. We plan the work around trading hours and can arrange closed-day or out-of-hours fitting.
