What can you expect in Haddington?
Local rules matter more than people expect. East Lothian Council handles planning for Haddington, and its view of external shutters and frontage changes shapes what we recommend.
What is worth knowing?
What about a fire exit?
A shutter must never trap people in. If it covers an escape route, it needs to be open while the premises are occupied, or opened easily from inside.
Can the shutter match my frontage?
Yes. Curtain, box and guides are powder coated to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as the finish allows.
What electrics are needed?
A power supply near the box, installed by a qualified electrician. We show the position on the drawing.
What are the guide prices?

Will this need planning permission in Haddington?
Probably, if it is external. East Lothian Council decides. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too. In Scotland, work can also need a building warrant before it starts, and listed buildings need listed building consent from the council.
