What should you check before you decide?
Steel or aluminium laths?
Steel is stronger and heavier. Aluminium is lighter and quieter, which helps under flats. Most shops are well served by either.
Can the shutter match my frontage?
Yes. Curtain, box and guides are powder coated to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as the finish allows.
Do I need a safety edge?
That depends on the risk assessment. Powered shutters near the public are assessed against BS EN 12453, and we quote what the result calls for.
Will this need planning permission in Craigavon?
Usually yes, if the shutter goes on the outside. External shutters change how the building looks, so Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council will normally expect a planning application. In Northern Ireland, councils decide planning applications, and Building Control applications are separate. Listed buildings need listed building consent.

Yes, including BT65.
Do I need planning permission for a shutter in Craigavon?
An external shutter usually needs it, and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council decides. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too.
Do insulated shutters save energy?
