How does it work in Stevenage?
A job starts the same way wherever you are: a measured survey, a look at the lintel and floor level, and a conversation about how the unit trades. We cover postcodes including SG1, SG2 and SG3, and we also work nearby in Hitchin and Letchworth Garden City.
What is worth knowing?
What electrics are needed?
A power supply near the box, installed by a qualified electrician. We show the position on the drawing.
What about a fire exit?
A shutter must never trap people in. If it covers an escape route, it needs to be open while the premises are occupied, or opened easily from inside.
Surface box or hidden box?
A surface box under the fascia is quicker and cheaper. A hidden box looks far better, but needs height above the door head and a removable access panel.

Do you need consent in Stevenage?
Usually yes, if the shutter goes on the outside. External shutters change how the building looks, so Stevenage Borough Council will normally expect a planning application. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
