How does it work in Tredegar?
Tredegar sits in Gwent, and Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council is the planning authority. For most shops that means checking consent before the order is placed, not after it.
What is worth knowing?
Why plan the frontage and shutter together?
Because the shutter box needs a home. Plan it with the fascia and it disappears. Add it later and it usually ends up on the face of the building.
How does a joint install save trading time?
The frontage and shutter go in as one sequence, so you close once. With two contractors, you close twice and hope they agree on who damaged what.
Who is responsible if something goes wrong?
One company. Your contract is with S&K Glazing Limited for both parts, so nobody can point at the other contractor.

Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent, and rules are set by the Welsh Government.
