What can you expect across County Armagh?
In County Armagh, the usual route is the same wherever you are: a measured survey, an itemised quotation, then fitting at a time that suits the shop. Towns we cover include Craigavon, Portadown, Lurgan and Armagh. Georgian streets in Armagh sit alongside the busy retail and industrial towns of Portadown and Lurgan.
What is worth knowing?
How long does a shutter last?
Curtains and guides can last many years with planned servicing. Motors, springs and locks go first, and a busy shop will wear them faster.
Surface box or hidden box?
A surface box under the fascia is quicker and cheaper. A hidden box looks far better, but needs height above the door head and a removable access panel.
Do I need a safety edge?
That depends on the risk assessment. Powered shutters near the public are assessed against BS EN 12453, and we quote what the result calls for.
What should you budget?

| 3 to 4 m | A wider single unit | £2,095 to £2,795 |
| 4 to 5 m | A double-fronted or corner unit | £2,595 to £3,395 |
| 5 to 6 m | A large double unit | £3,095 to £4,295 |

Do you need consent across County Armagh?
Usually not for internal work, although listed buildings can need consent even inside. Your council can confirm. In Northern Ireland, councils decide planning applications, and Building Control applications are separate. Listed buildings need listed building consent.
