What should you check before you decide?
How is the shutter controlled?
By key switch, remote or both, and we specify a manual override for power cuts. Keep the override instructions somewhere that staff can find them.
What about a fire exit?
A shutter must never trap people in. If it covers an escape route, it needs to be open while the premises are occupied, or opened easily from inside.
What electrics are needed?
A power supply near the box, installed by a qualified electrician. We show the position on the drawing.
Will this need planning permission in Bromyard?
Usually yes, if the shutter goes on the outside. External shutters change how the building looks, so Herefordshire Council will normally expect a planning application. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
What do people ask about perforated roller shutters in Bromyard?
Can you match the shutter to my shopfront?
Yes. We powder coat to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as we can.
Do I need planning permission for a shutter in Bromyard?
An external shutter usually needs it, and Herefordshire Council decides. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too.
How much does a perforated roller shutter cost in Bromyard?
For an opening up to 3 m wide, guide prices start from £1,750 plus VAT. The survey sets the final price.
Are perforated shutters more likely to get planning permission?
Not reliably. Some councils accept them and others resist them, so check with your council before you order.
