What is worth knowing?
How is the shutter controlled?
By key switch, remote or both, and we specify a manual override for power cuts. Keep the override instructions somewhere that staff can find them.
What electrics are needed?
A power supply near the box, installed by a qualified electrician. We show the position on the drawing.
How long does a shutter last?
Curtains and guides can last many years with planned servicing. Motors, springs and locks go first, and a busy shop will wear them faster.
Will this need planning permission in Stourbridge?
An external shutter normally needs planning permission from Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council. An internal shutter or grille often does not, so it is worth checking before you order. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
