How does it work in Kilburn?
Whether the unit is on the main shopping street or a local parade in Kilburn, the job is measured the same way, and your local council is the council to check with.
What makes the difference?
Surface box or hidden box?
A surface box under the fascia is quicker and cheaper. A hidden box looks far better, but needs height above the door head and a removable access panel.
What electrics are needed?
A power supply near the box, installed by a qualified electrician. We show the position on the drawing.
Do I need a safety edge?
That depends on the risk assessment. Powered shutters near the public are assessed against BS EN 12453, and we quote what the result calls for.

Will this need planning permission in Kilburn?
An external shutter normally needs planning permission from your local council. An internal shutter or grille often does not, so it is worth checking before you order. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
