What happens across County Armagh?
In County Armagh, the usual route is the same wherever you are: a measured survey, an itemised quotation, then fitting at a time that suits the shop. Towns we cover include Craigavon, Portadown, Lurgan and Armagh. Georgian streets in Armagh sit alongside the busy retail and industrial towns of Portadown and Lurgan.
What makes the difference?
How is the shutter controlled?
By key switch, remote or both, and we specify a manual override for power cuts. Keep the override instructions somewhere that staff can find them.
Steel or aluminium laths?
Steel is stronger and heavier. Aluminium is lighter and quieter, which helps under flats. Most shops are well served by either.
Surface box or hidden box?
A surface box under the fascia is quicker and cheaper. A hidden box looks far better, but needs height above the door head and a removable access panel.

Do you need consent across County Armagh?
Usually yes, if the shutter goes on the outside. External shutters change how the building looks, so your council will normally expect a planning application. In Northern Ireland, councils decide planning applications, and Building Control applications are separate. Listed buildings need listed building consent.
