What makes the difference?
Should the stallriser stay?
A stallriser protects the bottom of the glass from kicks, trolleys and cleaning water. On older streets it is also part of the look.
Can I keep trading during the work?
Often, in part. Fitting days can be planned for your quiet days, and closed-day or out-of-hours work can be arranged.
Can it have a shutter later?
Yes, but it is far neater to allow for one now. Tell us at survey, and we will leave height behind the fascia even if the shutter comes later.
Do you need consent in Northampton?
Usually yes, if the look of the frontage changes. Replacing like for like may not need permission, but West Northamptonshire Council has the final say. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
