What can you expect across the Highlands?

In the Highlands, the usual route is the same wherever you are: a measured survey, an itemised quotation, then fitting at a time that suits the shop. Towns we cover include Inverness, Fort William, Nairn and Thurso. Inverness is the main centre, with Fort William, Thurso and Wick serving huge areas in demanding weather.

What makes the difference?

How is the frontage measured?

We measure the structural opening, not the old frame. Lintel condition, floor level and how square the opening is all get recorded at survey.

Can it have a shutter later?

Yes, but it is far neater to allow for one now. Tell us at survey, and we will leave height behind the fascia even if the shutter comes later.

Should the stallriser stay?

A stallriser protects the bottom of the glass from kicks, trolleys and cleaning water. On older streets it is also part of the look.

Do you need consent across the Highlands?

A like-for-like replacement often does not need permission, but a visibly different frontage usually does. The application goes to your council. In Scotland, work can also need a building warrant before it starts, and listed buildings need listed building consent from the council.

What do people ask about bi-fold shopfronts across the Highlands?

Does a new shopfront across the Highlands need planning permission?

A change to how the frontage looks usually does. Your council is the council to check with, and we advise at survey.

How much does a bi-fold shopfront cost across the Highlands?

Guide prices start from £5,195 plus VAT. Size, doors and glass set the final figure after a survey by arrangement.

Can you add a shutter to the new shopfront?

Yes, and it is best planned now. We can price the frontage and shutter as one job.

Can a bi-fold front have a shutter?

Yes. The box sits above the track and the guides are set outside the panels.
