What should you think about first?
Steel or aluminium laths?
Steel is stronger and heavier. Aluminium is lighter and quieter, which helps under flats. Most shops are well served by either.
What about a fire exit?
A shutter must never trap people in. If it covers an escape route, it needs to be open while the premises are occupied, or opened easily from inside.
Is it worth repairing an old shutter?
Often, if the curtain and guides are sound. If not, we will price a replacement so that you can compare.
Do you need consent in West Bridgford?
Probably, if it is external. Rushcliffe Borough Council decides. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
