What else should you know?

What affects the price most?

Width, the number of doors, glass type and any strip-out. A second door or a laminated upgrade moves the figure more than the colour does.

Which colours work best?

Dark greys and black are the most requested because they frame the shop well. In a conservation area, ask us first, as colour can matter to the council.

Will I get something in writing?

Yes. A service visit ends with a written condition report that you can keep for your landlord or insurer.

Do you need consent in Chepstow?

Probably, if it is external. Monmouthshire County Council decides. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent, and rules are set by the Welsh Government.

What do people ask?

Do you cover Chepstow?

Yes. We survey and fit here, and the survey for new work is free.

Which council handles planning in Chepstow?

Monmouthshire County Council. We tell you at survey whether your work needs consent.

How soon can you fit an aluminium shopfront in Chepstow?

Lead time is 3 to 4 weeks after drawing sign-off. We book the fitting days around your trading.

Does a new shopfront in Chepstow need planning permission?

A change to how the frontage looks usually does. Monmouthshire County Council is the council to check with, and we advise at survey.
