A power supply near the box, installed by a qualified electrician. We show the position on the drawing.
Do I need a safety edge?
That depends on the risk assessment. Powered shutters near the public are assessed against BS EN 12453, and we quote what the result calls for.
What should I do if a shutter or door fails?
Stop using it if it looks unsafe, keep people clear and take a photo. Do not force a stuck shutter, as the springs and barrel are under load.
Will this need planning permission in Sale?
An external shutter normally needs planning permission from Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council. An internal shutter or grille often does not, so it is worth checking before you order. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
