What is worth knowing before you start?
How is the frontage measured?
We measure the structural opening, not the old frame. Lintel condition, floor level and how square the opening is all get recorded at survey.
What does the written quotation show?
Every item: frame, glass, doors, stallriser, strip-out and any electrics. It stays valid for 90 days, and nothing is ordered until you accept.
What should I do if a shutter or door fails?
Stop using it if it looks unsafe, keep people clear and take a photo. Do not force a stuck shutter, as the springs and barrel are under load.
Will this need planning permission in Llandudno?
Probably, if it is external. Conwy County Borough Council decides. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent, and rules are set by the Welsh Government.
