How does it work in Waterlooville?
A frontage in Waterlooville has to suit the street as well as the shop. Havant Borough Council decides what is acceptable where planning applies, so we draw with that in mind.
What makes the difference?
What electrics are needed?
A power supply near the box, installed by a qualified electrician. We show the position on the drawing.
How is the shutter controlled?
By key switch, remote or both, and we specify a manual override for power cuts. Keep the override instructions somewhere that staff can find them.
Steel or aluminium laths?
Steel is stronger and heavier. Aluminium is lighter and quieter, which helps under flats. Most shops are well served by either.

Do you need consent in Waterlooville?
Usually yes, if the shutter goes on the outside. External shutters change how the building looks, so Havant Borough Council will normally expect a planning application. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
