What happens in St Austell?
Whether the unit is on the main shopping street or a local parade in St Austell, the job is measured the same way, and Cornwall Council is the council to check with.
What makes the difference?
What will my insurer want?
Some insurers name a shutter type or rating, and many ask for locks and service records. Ask them before you order, as it saves a change later.
Surface box or hidden box?
A surface box under the fascia is quicker and cheaper. A hidden box looks far better, but needs height above the door head and a removable access panel.
Do I need a safety edge?
That depends on the risk assessment. Powered shutters near the public are assessed against BS EN 12453, and we quote what the result calls for.
What are the guide prices?

Guide prices, not offers. Your written quotation sets the final figure.
Will this need planning permission in St Austell?
An external shutter normally needs planning permission from Cornwall Council. An internal shutter or grille often does not, so it is worth checking before you order. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
