What is worth knowing?
How is the shutter controlled?
By key switch, remote or both, and we specify a manual override for power cuts. Keep the override instructions somewhere that staff can find them.
Surface box or hidden box?
A surface box under the fascia is quicker and cheaper. A hidden box looks far better, but needs height above the door head and a removable access panel.
What electrics are needed?
A power supply near the box, installed by a qualified electrician. We show the position on the drawing.
Do you need consent in Chippenham?
An external shutter normally needs planning permission from Wiltshire Council. An internal shutter or grille often does not, so it is worth checking before you order. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
