What happens in Cardiff?
A job starts the same way wherever you are: a measured survey, a look at the lintel and floor level, and a conversation about how the unit trades. We cover postcodes including CF10, CF11 and CF24, and we also work nearby in Llandaff and Whitchurch.
What should you check before you decide?
Steel or aluminium laths?
Steel is stronger and heavier. Aluminium is lighter and quieter, which helps under flats. Most shops are well served by either.
Do I need a safety edge?
That depends on the risk assessment. Powered shutters near the public are assessed against BS EN 12453, and we quote what the result calls for.
What electrics are needed?
A power supply near the box, installed by a qualified electrician. We show the position on the drawing.

Will this need planning permission in Cardiff?
Usually yes, if the shutter goes on the outside. External shutters change how the building looks, so City of Cardiff Council will normally expect a planning application. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent, and rules are set by the Welsh Government.
