What should you check before you decide?
What about a fire exit?
A shutter must never trap people in. If it covers an escape route, it needs to be open while the premises are occupied, or opened easily from inside.
What will my insurer want?
Some insurers name a shutter type or rating, and many ask for locks and service records. Ask them before you order, as it saves a change later.
Surface box or hidden box?
A surface box under the fascia is quicker and cheaper. A hidden box looks far better, but needs height above the door head and a removable access panel.
Do you need consent in Biddulph?
Usually yes, if the shutter goes on the outside. External shutters change how the building looks, so Staffordshire Moorlands District Council will normally expect a planning application. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
What do people ask about vision roller shutters in Biddulph?
Do I need planning permission for a shutter in Biddulph?
An external shutter usually needs it, and Staffordshire Moorlands District Council decides. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too.
How much does a vision roller shutter cost in Biddulph?
For an opening up to 3 m wide, guide prices start from £2,195 plus VAT. The survey sets the final price.
Can you match the shutter to my shopfront?
Yes. We powder coat to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as we can.
Vision or perforated: which shows more?
Vision shows more, as the slots are bigger. Perforated gives a softer view and a more solid look.
