What makes the difference?
Do I need a safety edge?
That depends on the risk assessment. Powered shutters near the public are assessed against BS EN 12453, and we quote what the result calls for.
How is the shutter controlled?
By key switch, remote or both, and we specify a manual override for power cuts. Keep the override instructions somewhere that staff can find them.
What will my insurer want?
Some insurers name a shutter type or rating, and many ask for locks and service records. Ask them before you order, as it saves a change later.
Will this need planning permission in Ascot?
Usually yes, if the shutter goes on the outside. External shutters change how the building looks, so Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead will normally expect a planning application. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
What do people ask about vision roller shutters in Ascot?
Can you match the shutter to my shopfront?
Yes. We powder coat to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as we can.
How much does a vision roller shutter cost in Ascot?
For an opening up to 3 m wide, guide prices start from £2,195 plus VAT. The survey sets the final price.
Do I need planning permission for a shutter in Ascot?
An external shutter usually needs it, and Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead decides. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too.
Vision or perforated: which shows more?
Vision shows more, as the slots are bigger. Perforated gives a softer view and a more solid look.
