What happens in Rugby?
Rugby sits in Warwickshire, and Rugby Borough Council is the planning authority. For most shops that means checking consent before the order is placed, not after it.
What should you think about first?
Is the box accessible for servicing?
It has to be. We build in a removable panel so that an engineer can reach the motor, brake and spring parts.
Why plan the frontage and shutter together?
Because the shutter box needs a home. Plan it with the fascia and it disappears. Add it later and it usually ends up on the face of the building.
Should I choose solid or perforated?
Solid gives more privacy and strength. Perforated keeps the window working at night. On the outside of a shop, some councils resist both, so check before you choose.
What should you budget?
| Package | Up to 3 m wide | 5 to 6 m wide |
|---|---|---|
| Security package | £5,095 to £7,995 | £10,095 to £15,995 |
| Display package | £4,195 to £6,295 | £7,995 to £12,295 |
| Essential package | £3,895 to £5,995 | £7,695 to £11,995 |

Do you need consent in Rugby?
Probably, if it is external. Rugby Borough Council decides. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
What do people ask about shopfront and shutter packages in Rugby?
Do you cover Rugby for both the shopfront and shutter?
Yes. One surveyor and one fitting team handle both parts in Rugby.
Can you fit a package around my trading hours in Rugby?
Yes. Closed-day or out-of-hours fitting can be arranged.
How much is a shopfront and shutter package in Rugby?
For a unit up to 3 m wide, guide prices start from £3,895 plus VAT. The written quotation after a free site survey sets the final price.
Is it cheaper to buy the shopfront and shutter together?
We price each part honestly and do not promise a discount. What you avoid is a second survey, a second visit, a second closure and a shutter box added after the event.
