What makes the difference?
What decides the final package price?
Width, height, frame material, curtain type, and whether the box can be hidden. Access and strip-out are the other two things that move the price.
Should I choose solid or perforated?
Solid gives more privacy and strength. Perforated keeps the window working at night. On the outside of a shop, some councils resist both, so check before you choose.
Is the box accessible for servicing?
It has to be. We build in a removable panel so that an engineer can reach the motor, brake and spring parts.
Will this need planning permission in Derry/Londonderry?
Probably, if it is external. Derry City and Strabane District Council decides. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too. In Northern Ireland, councils decide planning applications, and Building Control applications are separate. Listed buildings need listed building consent.
