What can you expect in Treharris?
A frontage in Treharris has to suit the street as well as the shop. Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council decides what is acceptable where planning applies, so we draw with that in mind.

What makes the difference?
Steel or aluminium laths?
Steel is stronger and heavier. Aluminium is lighter and quieter, which helps under flats. Most shops are well served by either.
How is the shutter controlled?
By key switch, remote or both, and we specify a manual override for power cuts. Keep the override instructions somewhere that staff can find them.
What about a fire exit?
A shutter must never trap people in. If it covers an escape route, it needs to be open while the premises are occupied, or opened easily from inside.
Will this need planning permission in Treharris?
An external shutter normally needs planning permission from Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council. An internal shutter or grille often does not, so it is worth checking before you order. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent, and rules are set by the Welsh Government.
What do people ask about perforated roller shutters in Treharris?
Can you match the shutter to my shopfront?
Yes. We powder coat to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as we can.
How much does a perforated roller shutter cost in Treharris?
For an opening up to 3 m wide, guide prices start from £1,750 plus VAT. The survey sets the final price.
Do I need planning permission for a shutter in Treharris?
An external shutter usually needs it, and Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council decides. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too.
Are perforated shutters as strong as solid ones?
Close to it. The holes are small and the lath keeps its shape, though a solid lath is still stronger.
