What can you expect in Sutton-in-Ashfield?
Sutton-in-Ashfield sits in Nottinghamshire, and Ashfield District Council is the planning authority. For most shops that means checking consent before the order is placed, not after it.
What should you check before you decide?
What about a fire exit?
A shutter must never trap people in. If it covers an escape route, it needs to be open while the premises are occupied, or opened easily from inside.
What electrics are needed?
A power supply near the box, installed by a qualified electrician. We show the position on the drawing.
Surface box or hidden box?
A surface box under the fascia is quicker and cheaper. A hidden box looks far better, but needs height above the door head and a removable access panel.
What should you budget?
| Opening width | Typical unit | Guide price plus VAT |

| Up to 3 m | A typical single shop unit | £1,750 to £2,295 |
| 3 to 4 m | A wider single unit | £2,195 to £2,895 |
