What can you expect in Stanford-le-Hope?
Stanford-le-Hope sits in Essex, and Thurrock Council is the planning authority. For most shops that means checking consent before the order is placed, not after it.
What should you think about first?
What about a fire exit?
A shutter must never trap people in. If it covers an escape route, it needs to be open while the premises are occupied, or opened easily from inside.
Do I need a safety edge?
That depends on the risk assessment. Powered shutters near the public are assessed against BS EN 12453, and we quote what the result calls for.
How long does a shutter last?
Curtains and guides can last many years with planned servicing. Motors, springs and locks go first, and a busy shop will wear them faster.
What are the guide prices?

Do you need consent in Stanford-le-Hope?
Usually yes, if the shutter goes on the outside. External shutters change how the building looks, so Thurrock Council will normally expect a planning application. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.

How much does a perforated roller shutter cost in Stanford-le-Hope?

Are perforated shutters more likely to get planning permission?
