What should you think about first?
How is the shutter controlled?
By key switch, remote or both, and we specify a manual override for power cuts. Keep the override instructions somewhere that staff can find them.
Can the shutter match my frontage?
Yes. Curtain, box and guides are powder coated to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as the finish allows.
Steel or aluminium laths?
Steel is stronger and heavier. Aluminium is lighter and quieter, which helps under flats. Most shops are well served by either.
Do you need consent in Blantyre?
An external shutter normally needs planning permission from South Lanarkshire Council. An internal shutter or grille often does not, so it is worth checking before you order. In Scotland, work can also need a building warrant before it starts, and listed buildings need listed building consent from the council.
