What makes the difference?
What about a fire exit?
A shutter must never trap people in. If it covers an escape route, it needs to be open while the premises are occupied, or opened easily from inside.
Can the shutter match my frontage?
Yes. Curtain, box and guides are powder coated to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as the finish allows.
Do I need a safety edge?
That depends on the risk assessment. Powered shutters near the public are assessed against BS EN 12453, and we quote what the result calls for.
Will this need planning permission in Acocks Green?
Usually yes, if the shutter goes on the outside. External shutters change how the building looks, so Birmingham City Council will normally expect a planning application. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.

Yes. We powder coat to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as we can.

An external shutter usually needs it, and Birmingham City Council decides. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too.
How much does a perforated roller shutter cost in Acocks Green?

Close to it. The holes are small and the lath keeps its shape, though a solid lath is still stronger.
