What happens in Annan?
We aim to fit the survey around your opening hours in Annan, and we also cover Lockerbie and Dumfries. You get the same written quotation wherever the shop is.
What should you check before you decide?
Steel or aluminium laths?
Steel is stronger and heavier. Aluminium is lighter and quieter, which helps under flats. Most shops are well served by either.
Can the shutter match my frontage?
Yes. Curtain, box and guides are powder coated to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as the finish allows.
Do I need a safety edge?
That depends on the risk assessment. Powered shutters near the public are assessed against BS EN 12453, and we quote what the result calls for.
What are the guide prices?
| Opening width | Typical unit | Guide price plus VAT |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 3 m | A typical single shop unit | £1,850 to £2,495 |
| 3 to 4 m | A wider single unit | £2,395 to £3,095 |
| 4 to 5 m | A double-fronted or corner unit | £2,895 to £3,695 |
| 5 to 6 m | A large double unit | £3,395 to £4,595 |
Guide prices, not offers. Your written quotation sets the final figure.
Do you need consent in Annan?
Usually yes, if the shutter goes on the outside. External shutters change how the building looks, so Dumfries and Galloway Council will normally expect a planning application. In Scotland, work can also need a building warrant before it starts, and listed buildings need listed building consent from the council.

How soon can you fit an insulated roller shutter in Annan?

Not in themselves. Their benefit is heat and noise rather than strength.
