How does it work in Wigston?
Wigston sits in Leicestershire, and Oadby and Wigston Borough Council is the planning authority. For most shops that means checking consent before the order is placed, not after it.
What should you check before you decide?
Can the shutter match my frontage?
Yes. Curtain, box and guides are powder coated to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as the finish allows.
What electrics are needed?
A power supply near the box, installed by a qualified electrician. We show the position on the drawing.
What about a fire exit?
A shutter must never trap people in. If it covers an escape route, it needs to be open while the premises are occupied, or opened easily from inside.

Will this need planning permission in Wigston?
Usually yes, if the shutter goes on the outside. External shutters change how the building looks, so Oadby and Wigston Borough Council will normally expect a planning application. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
