What should you check before you decide?
How long does a shutter last?
Curtains and guides can last many years with planned servicing. Motors, springs and locks go first, and a busy shop will wear them faster.
What electrics are needed?
A power supply near the box, installed by a qualified electrician. We show the position on the drawing.
How is the shutter controlled?
By key switch, remote or both, and we specify a manual override for power cuts. Keep the override instructions somewhere that staff can find them.

Will this need planning permission in Port Glasgow?
An external shutter normally needs planning permission from Inverclyde Council. An internal shutter or grille often does not, so it is worth checking before you order. In Scotland, work can also need a building warrant before it starts, and listed buildings need listed building consent from the council.
What do people ask about high-security shutters in Port Glasgow?
Can you match the shutter to my shopfront?
Yes. We powder coat to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as we can.
Do I need planning permission for a shutter in Port Glasgow?
An external shutter usually needs it, and Inverclyde Council decides. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too.
Do you cover the postcodes around Port Glasgow?
Yes, including PA14 and PA13.
What rating do I need?
Ask your insurer first. Many specify a rating or leave it to a survey.
