How does it work in Oswestry?
Oswestry sits in Shropshire, and Shropshire Council is the planning authority. For most shops that means checking consent before the order is placed, not after it.

What should you check before you decide?
Can the shutter match my frontage?
Yes. Curtain, box and guides are powder coated to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as the finish allows.
Does a shutter need planning permission?
An external shutter usually does. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too. An internal grille or shutter is usually the safer route, so we can advise what to check before you order.
Do I need a safety edge?
That depends on the risk assessment. Powered shutters near the public are assessed against BS EN 12453, and we quote what the result calls for.
Will this need planning permission in Oswestry?
Usually yes, if the shutter goes on the outside. External shutters change how the building looks, so Shropshire Council will normally expect a planning application. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
