What should you check before you decide?
How is the shutter controlled?
By key switch, remote or both, and we specify a manual override for power cuts. Keep the override instructions somewhere that staff can find them.
Surface box or hidden box?
A surface box under the fascia is quicker and cheaper. A hidden box looks far better, but needs height above the door head and a removable access panel.
Can the shutter match my frontage?
Yes. Curtain, box and guides are powder coated to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as the finish allows.
Will this need planning permission in North Shields?
An external shutter normally needs planning permission from North Tyneside Council. An internal shutter or grille often does not, so it is worth checking before you order. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.

Can you match the shutter to my shopfront?
Yes. We powder coat to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as we can.
Do I need planning permission for a shutter in North Shields?
An external shutter usually needs it, and North Tyneside Council decides. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too.
How much does a high-security shutter cost in North Shields?
For an opening up to 3 m wide, guide prices start from £3,995 plus VAT. The survey sets the final price.
What does LPS 1175 mean?
It is a Loss Prevention Standard for intruder-resistant products. The rating shows the tools tested and how long the product held out.
