What can you expect in Horley?
Whether the unit is on the main shopping street or a local parade in Horley, the job is measured the same way, and Reigate and Banstead Borough Council is the council to check with.
What makes the difference?
What electrics are needed?
A power supply near the box, installed by a qualified electrician. We show the position on the drawing.
What about a fire exit?
A shutter must never trap people in. If it covers an escape route, it needs to be open while the premises are occupied, or opened easily from inside.
Do I need a safety edge?
That depends on the risk assessment. Powered shutters near the public are assessed against BS EN 12453, and we quote what the result calls for.

Will this need planning permission in Horley?
An external shutter normally needs planning permission from Reigate and Banstead Borough Council. An internal shutter or grille often does not, so it is worth checking before you order. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
