What can you expect in Guisborough?
Guisborough sits in North Yorkshire, and Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is the planning authority. For most shops that means checking consent before the order is placed, not after it.
What should you check before you decide?
What will my insurer want?
Some insurers name a shutter type or rating, and many ask for locks and service records. Ask them before you order, as it saves a change later.
How long does a shutter last?
Curtains and guides can last many years with planned servicing. Motors, springs and locks go first, and a busy shop will wear them faster.
What electrics are needed?
A power supply near the box, installed by a qualified electrician. We show the position on the drawing.

Will this need planning permission in Guisborough?
Probably, if it is external. Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council decides. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
