How does it work in Borehamwood?
Working in Borehamwood means working with Hertsmere Borough Council on planning, and sometimes with a landlord on the lease. We flag both early, so that neither one holds up your opening date.
What should you check before you decide?
Do I need a safety edge?
That depends on the risk assessment. Powered shutters near the public are assessed against BS EN 12453, and we quote what the result calls for.
What about a fire exit?
A shutter must never trap people in. If it covers an escape route, it needs to be open while the premises are occupied, or opened easily from inside.
Can the shutter match my frontage?
Yes. Curtain, box and guides are powder coated to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as the finish allows.
What are the guide prices?

Guide prices, not offers. Your written quotation sets the final figure.
Do you need consent in Borehamwood?
Usually yes, if the shutter goes on the outside. External shutters change how the building looks, so Hertsmere Borough Council will normally expect a planning application. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.

Do you cover the postcodes around Borehamwood?
Yes, including WD6 and WD7.
How much does a high-security shutter cost in Borehamwood?
For an opening up to 3 m wide, guide prices start from £3,995 plus VAT. The survey sets the final price.
Can you match the shutter to my shopfront?
Yes. We powder coat to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as we can.
What does LPS 1175 mean?
It is a Loss Prevention Standard for intruder-resistant products. The rating shows the tools tested and how long the product held out.
