How does it work across Ayrshire?

We work right across Ayrshire, including Kilmarnock, Ayr, Irvine and Kilwinning. Rules on frontages and shutters differ from one council to the next. Councils here include East Ayrshire, North Ayrshire and South Ayrshire. Coastal towns such as Ayr, Troon and Largs sit beside inland centres such as Kilmarnock, so wind-driven salt is a real factor on some frontages and not on others.

How much will it cost?

What should you think about first?

What affects the price most?

Width, the number of doors, glass type and any strip-out. A second door or a laminated upgrade moves the figure more than the colour does.

Should the stallriser stay?

A stallriser protects the bottom of the glass from kicks, trolleys and cleaning water. On older streets it is also part of the look.

Which glass should go in?

Safety glass is needed in doors, side panels and low-level panes. Laminated glass is worth the extra if the street has a history of break-ins.

Will this need planning permission across Ayrshire?

It depends on how much changes. A new layout, new materials or a moved door usually needs permission from your council. In Scotland, work can also need a building warrant before it starts, and listed buildings need listed building consent from the council.

What do people ask about frameless glass shopfronts across Ayrshire?

How soon can you fit a frameless glass shopfront across Ayrshire?

Lead time is confirmed on your quotation. We book the fitting days around your trading.

Can you add a shutter to the new shopfront?

Yes, and it is best planned now. We can price the frontage and shutter as one job.

Does a new shopfront across Ayrshire need planning permission?

A change to how the frontage looks usually does. Your council is the council to check with, and we advise at survey.

Is a frameless shopfront secure?

It can be, with laminated glass and good locking. Many owners add an internal shutter or grille for out-of-hours security.
