What happens in Whitefield?
Working in Whitefield means working with Bury Metropolitan Borough Council on planning, and sometimes with a landlord on the lease. We flag both early, so that neither one holds up your opening date.

What is worth knowing?
Which glass should go in?
Safety glass is needed in doors, side panels and low-level panes. Laminated glass is worth the extra if the street has a history of break-ins.
What does the written quotation show?
Every item: frame, glass, doors, stallriser, strip-out and any electrics. It stays valid for 90 days, and nothing is ordered until you accept.
Can it have a shutter later?
Yes, but it is far neater to allow for one now. Tell us at survey, and we will leave height behind the fascia even if the shutter comes later.
Do you need consent in Whitefield?
Usually yes, if the look of the frontage changes. Replacing like for like may not need permission, but Bury Metropolitan Borough Council has the final say. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.

Can you add a shutter to the new shopfront?
Yes, and it is best planned now. We can price the frontage and shutter as one job.
Does a new shopfront in Whitefield need planning permission?
A change to how the frontage looks usually does. Bury Metropolitan Borough Council is the council to check with, and we advise at survey.
How much does an aluminium shopfront cost in Whitefield?
Guide prices start from £2,450 plus VAT. Size, doors and glass set the final figure after a free site survey.
