What is worth knowing?
Which glass should go in?
Safety glass is needed in doors, side panels and low-level panes. Laminated glass is worth the extra if the street has a history of break-ins.
Can I keep trading during the work?
Often, in part. Fitting days can be planned for your quiet days, and closed-day or out-of-hours work can be arranged.
How do you deal with the threshold?
We aim for level or near-level access. New doors need thought about wheelchair and pushchair users, and we check the floor before we promise anything.
Do you need consent in Louth?
It depends on how much changes. A new layout, new materials or a moved door usually needs permission from East Lindsey District Council. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
