What is worth knowing before you start?
Can the shutter match my frontage?
Yes. Curtain, box and guides are powder coated to a RAL colour to match your frame as closely as the finish allows.
How long does a shutter last?
Curtains and guides can last many years with planned servicing. Motors, springs and locks go first, and a busy shop will wear them faster.
How is the visit priced?
We tell you what the visit covers before we book it. Parts and further labour are agreed with you before they are added.
Do you need consent in Kirkwall?
An external shutter normally needs planning permission from Orkney Islands Council. An internal shutter or grille often does not, so it is worth checking before you order. In Scotland, work can also need a building warrant before it starts, and listed buildings need listed building consent from the council.
