What else should you know?

Surface box or hidden box?

A surface box under the fascia is quicker and cheaper. A hidden box looks far better, but needs height above the door head and a removable access panel.

What about a fire exit?

A shutter must never trap people in. If it covers an escape route, it needs to be open while the premises are occupied, or opened easily from inside.

Can you repair the frontage too?

Yes. We repair doors, closers, locks, hinges and beads, and glass can be measured at the same visit.

Do you need consent in Bootle?

An external shutter normally needs planning permission from Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council. An internal shutter or grille often does not, so it is worth checking before you order. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
