What is worth knowing before you start?
Is the box accessible for servicing?
It has to be. We build in a removable panel so that an engineer can reach the motor, brake and spring parts.
Who is responsible if something goes wrong?
One company. Your contract is with S&K Glazing Limited for both parts, so nobody can point at the other contractor.
Will I get something in writing?
Yes. A service visit ends with a written condition report that you can keep for your landlord or insurer.
Will this need planning permission in Chingford?
An external shutter normally needs planning permission from London Borough of Waltham Forest. An internal shutter or grille often does not, so it is worth checking before you order. Illuminated signs can need advertisement consent, depending on size, position and area. Listed buildings need listed building consent as well.
