What is worth knowing before you start?
Surface box or hidden box?
A surface box under the fascia is quicker and cheaper. A hidden box looks far better, but needs height above the door head and a removable access panel.
What electrics are needed?
A power supply near the box, installed by a qualified electrician. We show the position on the drawing.
Is it worth repairing an old shutter?
Often, if the curtain and guides are sound. If not, we will price a replacement so that you can compare.
Do you need consent in Belfast?
Probably, if it is external. Belfast City Council decides. Many councils resist solid external shutters, and some resist perforated ones too. In Northern Ireland, councils decide planning applications, and Building Control applications are separate. Listed buildings need listed building consent.
